Recently we had the opportunity to stay in one of the cabins at the newly update Eddy’s Resort on the shores of Lake Mille Lacs in Onamia MN. (Love these cabins at Eddy’s because they are dog friendly! ) Lucky for us Mille Lacs Kathio State Park is located right across Hwy 169 from Eddy’s so we had the perfect excuse to check it out!
It was a little wet and muddy the day we were at the park, and because we didn’t have the right shoes for trekking through the mud, we did not get the opportunity to check out the 100′ fire tower that promised beautiful views of Lake Mille Lacs.

The 11,000 acre park has 19 archeological sites and 35 miles of hiking trails, 27 miles of horse trails and 20 miles of cross country skiing and snowmobile trails. There are camp sites and camper cabins located in the park and sites are known for being shaded and secluded.
